World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades boost the value of certain numeric stats on armor, weapons and rings. They also increase bonuses such as damage from PvE and crit chance.
If the template for upgrading a weapon is %, it will increase 3% of its previous damage every time it's upgraded.
The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases with the item's level.
Components
Upgrade components are items that can be inserted into armor, weapons and trinkets in order to provide an additional stat boost or effect when they're used. They can be obtained through crafting, buying from vendors or trading with other players, or looting. Certain upgrades come with special cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can only be applied to devices that have slots. The item must be upgraded to blue level before the component can be used. Unlike other mods, upgrade components can only be used once and can't be used multiple times or replaced with upgrades. Infusions and Enrichments are a kind of upgrade component that is used to upgrade non-amulet legendary and Ascended equipment, as well as some non-ascended items. Infusions and enrichments can be obtained by salvaging equipment that is ascended or completing a mission in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.
A suffix or prefix can be added to an upgrade, which alters the name of the item it is used on (for example, 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' is changed to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase the Mark Level or Rarity, which allows players to make stronger versions of the equipment using fewer Upgrade Crystals than is required to reach the same level of upgrade using normal methods.
A 'boost' upgrade can alter the attack or defence attributes of an armored weapon or. After the player has completed the cutscene and defeated Crazed Mechanist, these upgrades can be made at the Portative Forging Station. They can be dropped by enemies when upgrading other gear or by purchasing them from the cash shop for 500 upgrade crystals.
Each upgrade increases the likelihood that a better-quality version of the item will be revealed at the next reset. This gives players the opportunity to upgrade their gear even if they are unsure how much it will be improved after the reset.
The boost upgrade may be successful or not, the process may be expensive, and there is a significant possibility that the item will be obsolete or even break when it fails. A unsuccessful upgrade could cause the destruction of Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item. This is alleviated by the availability cash shop items that can double or even eliminate chance of failure, as well as some upgrades that offer a bonus when reinserted into an item.
Glyphs
Glyphs are upgrade components that can be placed in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs boost the power of all nodes within the area around them, including pre-existing affixes on equipment. Glyphs can be upgraded in numerous ways. We recommend upgrading them as fast as you can to level 15.
It is commonplace to see in the endgame that placing Glyphs is a great method to upgrade your equipment. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded straight to level 15 and provide an enormous boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to reach higher nodes much faster.
The majority of upgrades in the game can be replaced however, Glyphs are only the one upgrade component that can be removed and re-placed without restriction. The only exception is legendary equipment that requires a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and re-place.
Each Glyph has a particular range of values it can improve a statistic by. The value is displayed when you select the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with an Glyph that is of the same or higher rank to boost the value of the Glyph.
Glyphs are available in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of a Gem Store bundle or purchase the glyphs with certain tools that allow unlimited use, and during Faction Crypt Raids. Each Faction Crypt has a chance to drop one of the numerous Glyphs and there are some rare glyphs that can be obtained as drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.
Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs, you will have to attach them to your equipment. Each Glyph unlocks a bonus which will boost the stats of a particular set of nodes in a radius surrounding the Glyph. This will either be +40 for one of your primary stats, or +25 for two of your secondary stats depending on the Glyph.
Glyphs will increase the number of nodes connected to them, therefore it is recommended to place Glyphs in key locations on the Graph. This will maximize the impact. For example an Druid should aim to place their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes, however, you may also want to think about placing them near crucial damage nodes, too.
Leveling
The item upgrade system allows players to increase the power of certain items by adding upgraded components. This is referred to as "upping". Each upgradeable item is assigned an amount that determines the final stats. Upgraded items may be leveled up to a maximum level of 385. Each level requires a different number of components to be reached and the cost of upgrading increase as the item is upgraded.
Some upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained by the completion of Upgrade Recipes. These recipes are available in the upgrade tab of a crafting table or purchased from some NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed yields a certain number of Technology points. These points can be used to upgrading an item. Once enough points are earned you will be eligible to claim the upgrade and get its extra bonuses.
When an individual player upgrade the equipment they have it is replaced by the new item. The same armor will receive a weapon or a shield when upgraded. The new item will also have a unique bonus. This could be a drawback because it can make the item more expensive if you don't need it.
If the player has enough tokens, they can reroll item upgrades . This will cause the item to be exchanged for a brand new one, which will have an initial level and a completely different set of bonus bonuses. This can be useful for some items, but it shouldn't be done regularly, as it could waste a lot of resources.
Some upgrades can increase their value and allow players to modify their equipment. An excellent example is Dolphin's Gift, which gives a buff when the player repeatedly enters and exits water (or swims like a dolphin). It can be upgraded multiple times, each time increasing the maximum roll by a factor of 10. This item is highly useful in PvP. A well-rolled version can be worth 50 times the value of its non-upgraded counterpart.
Requirements
The upgrade of items allows players to upgrade the quality of their equippable gear--armor, weapons and trinkets over ilvl 385 by offering the appropriate currency and items to an NPC that upgrades items. The upgrade of armor set pieces will also increase the defense base of that piece, while upgrading weapon items will increase the damage base and required strength and dexterity to match the requirements of the upgraded equipment.
All items are upgradeable up to five times except for hero gear, which can be upgraded eight times. Every time you upgrade a piece of equipment, it has a chance of failing. The probability of failure increases as you move beyond the maximum number. Failures can cause the item to go to its initial state, requiring the player to spend more money on materials than they would had they stopped upgrading at the highest number of upgrades.
If an item is not upgraded the experience bar in its growth bar will reset to zero. The item also loses any bonuses it earned like crit chance, attack damage, or additional effects (such as increased heal over time or the speed of reloading). The player is able to use their weapon or armor even after the failure.
If an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied in order from the lowest to the highest. This means that if a weapon increases its crit chance it will be applied prior to any damage to attack increases. Slots is a new attribute that was added to item definitions. The value is calculated each time an upgrade occurs.

For instance, a common item might have five upgrades for a price of. 25,600 Technology Points and a 4x Quality Improvement Chance--whereas hero grade items will come with an incredibly lower cost for each upgrade.
Premium items might have different upgrade requirements than normal equipment. For example they might require fewer sowels, but more minerals and orons. However, players will have to visit the NPC [Armorthe ] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they want to upgrade. In addition to the upgrade cost mentioned above, each upgrade requires a different amount of the ingredients needed to upgrade.
