World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
Item upgrades give players the ability to upgrade their equipment that they already own. This can be done at any item upgrader NPC.
Generally, upgrades boost an item's main stats and provide additional benefits based on the type. Examples include Whistan's shield for FB Sorcs, and Goldwraps for caster builds.
Armour

Utility Items
Utility items are equipment that don't fall into the categories of Armor, Clothing or Weapons and offer a range of different capabilities. Contrary to Weapons and Armor and Clothing, no utility item will be in conflict with the other. The majority of utility items have an effect that the player can activate when using them, however, some come with additional capabilities that are activated when the user presses a button or activates an ability.
Generally, the most common kind of utility item is the Flashlight that illuminates the surrounding area. Other utility items include the Helicopter Cap and Rocket Boots which allow the player float in mid-air while moving and the Jetpack that allows the player to accelerate in all directions while on the ground. In the Engineering section you can create instantly a variety of utilitarian items, whereas others are only available through Research projects or Experimental projects on the Proving Ground.
Players can unlock more powerful utility items in addition to the items they have in their usual inventory by purchasing them at the Atomic Shop or from seasonal Scoreboard rewards. Certain of these items can be upgraded to increase their effectiveness.
